  • The USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service reported that in 2006, out of 92 Indiana counties, Tipton County ranked first in yields per acre for corn (177 bushels / acre); first in yields per acre for wheat (85 bushels / acre); and second in yields per acre for soybean production (56 bushels / acre. 1st place was 57 bushels / acre). Additionally, Tipton County is among the top tomato producing counties in the state. These facts represent the exceptional fertility of Tipton County soils and the importance of Tipton County's agricultural empire to the food supply.

  • Tipton County is centrally located in Indiana, just 45 miles north of Indianapolis and at the crossroads of America.

  • In addition to an industrial park located along the railway system and on the edge of the city of Tipton, 80 acres directly on U.S. 31 have been set aside for a cluster of agriculturally related businesses.

  • Prairie Acres Ag Tech Park is situated within this 80 acres as a part of an overall theme of PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE agriculture and the setting will be agriculturally driven.

  • The Agricultural Technology Park is within a 180 degree radius of many major highways and is situated between two major state universities (Indiana University and Purdue University) and is also centered in the hub of Indiana ethanol production.

  • Unique amenities are available within the Prairie Acres complex to serve conferences, meetings, overnight stays, and social activities.

  • Tipton County offers an unlimited availability of the most fertile acreage in the Midwest on which to conduct crop research.
